The RCR Academic Policy for Master’s Thesis Students applies to all master’s students who are pursuing a thesis. Applicable master's students, as part of their degree requirements, must successfully complete at least one of the following options:
An online CITI RCR course.
A doctoral RCR course that satisfies the in-person RCR training requirement for doctoral students.
A master's RCR course that has been approved for RCR training (programs that wish to pursue this option should refer to the In-house Training Approach Guide PDF).
The RCR training must be completed and verified before the Request for Approval of Master’s Thesis Topic Form will be processed by the Office of Graduate Education.
Important: Master’s thesis students who plan to transition to a doctoral program are strongly encouraged to complete the First Option and the Second Option above (refer to the Doctoral Policy page for more information).
