Requesting a GT Guest Account
Contact the person or department you are working with at Georgia Tech. Ask them to sponsor a Guest Account for you. They only need to request the account for 7 days, during which time you should be able to create your GT-affiliated CITI account.
Your Georgia Tech contact person should go the GT Passport site and select Manage Guests. They should create an account with Basic Authentication for a length of 7 days. You do NOT need to complete the CITI training during this period.
After your Georgia Tech sponsor creates a Guest Account for you, you will receive a temporary GT Guest Login Account. Once it is activated, it will be valid for ONE week, unless your sponsor selects a longer period of time. (It may take 30 minutes or more for your Guest Login Account to activate.) Before your GT Guest Account expires, you must go through steps 1 through 5 below.
Follow the instructions below to access Georgia Tech CITI Training:
- Use your new temporary GT login credentials to access CITI training through Georgia Tech's CITI Single Sign-On link. You will be first prompted to login to Georgia Tech's Central Authentication Service (CAS). You may also be asked to confirm the attributes that you are sending to CITI.
- You will be brought to the LOG IN THROUGH MY ORGANIZATION screen in CITI, and will be asked if you have an existing account or if you want to create one:
- IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN EXISTING CITI ACCOUNT with another organization, indicate that you do not have a CITI account and want to create one.
- IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A CITI ACCOUNT with another organization, indicate that you have an existing CITI account. Follow the Matching Instructions to link your accounts.
- Once you have created or linked your account through SSO, your CITI account will be affiliated with "Georgia Institute of Technology". This is the step which will enable you to take the CITI Training that Georgia Tech requires.
- You will need to reset your CITI Program password in order to access your CITI account after your GT Guest Login Account expires.
- Make a note of your CITI Program username and password. You will need this to access CITI after your GT Guest Login Account expires. (Your CITI Program username is usually in the format LastnameFirstname and is located under your CITI Member Profile.)
- You do not need to complete the training before your temporary GT Guest Login Account expires.
- Once you have a CITI account that is affiliated with Georgia Tech, you can access the required training at any time. However, once your GT Guest Login Account expires, you must go to the CITI Program site and select the LOG IN option to access the training with the CITI Program username and password that you noted in Step 5. (The GT CITI SSO login link will no longer work for you)
- To begin the training, select Add a Course, and then choose the appropriate option(s) from the menu that follows. The relevant CITI course(s) will be added to your GT CITI course list.
